Guido Bissanti
Guido Bissanti, born in Cinisi (PA) in 1955, is a Doctor of Agronomy, having graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Palermo.
After graduation, he conducted research, with CNR funding, in biological and integrated pest management programs, and was a professor of Biological and Integrated Control of Animal Organisms at the same Faculty.
Institutional and professional roles –
1991–1998: President of the Order of Agronomists and Forestry Specialists of the Province of Agrigento.
1995–1998: President of the Regional Federation of the Orders of Agronomists and Forestry Specialists of Sicily.
2000–2004 and 2007–2008: Member of the National Council of Agronomists and Forestry Specialists, with responsibility for environmental matters.
2001–2005: National Council Representative at CEDIA (Committee of European Agricultural Engineers) and CLAIU (Committee of Associations of European Graduate Engineers), both based in Brussels.
Since 1995: Co-editor of Agroambiente (official organ of the National Council) and subsequently of the AF magazine.
Expert member of the Biotechnology Committee for the Department of Agriculture and Forestry of the Sicilian Region.
Scientific and publishing activities –
Author of several scientific publications and numerous articles in specialized journals on the environment and territorial planning. He has also published several books:

Cultural and Social Promotion Activities –
Founder (2001) and President of the Terredelsud Association, committed to promoting Sustainable Development.
President of the “Valle dei Templi” Ecosection of the Movimento Azzurro, a national environmental protection association recognized under Law 349/86.
Scientific Director of the International Festival of Mediterranean Identity in Marzamemi (2024).
President of the Sicilian Agroecology Coordination Committee, promoter of the relevant Sicilian regional law.
President of the Valle dei Templi Agroecological Biodistrict.
Member of the Permanent Technical Committee on Agroecology and Organic Farming at the Department of Agriculture, Rural Development and Mediterranean Fisheries of the Sicilian Region.
