How to prepare apricots in syrup

Apricots in syrup are a delicious fruit preserve that can be easily prepared at home. Below is a basic recipe for preparing apricots in syrup:
Ingredients:
– 1 kg of ripe apricots
– 500 g of sugar
– 500ml of water
– Lemon juice (optional)
Instructions:
1. Wash and dry the apricots well. Remove the pits and cut them into halves or quarters, depending on size.
2. In a large saucepan, bring the water and sugar to a boil, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved. Add lemon juice if you want to add a touch of acidity to the syrup.
3. Add apricots to boiling syrup. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer about 5 to 10 minutes, or until apricots have softened slightly.
4. Remove the apricots from the pot using a slotted spoon or slotted spoon and transfer them to sterilized glass jars. Fill the jars with the apricots, leaving a gap of about 1cm from the top.
5. Pour the boiling syrup over the apricots in the jars, making sure they are completely covered by the syrup.
6. Seal the jars with sterilized lids and tighten tightly. You can also treat the jars in a boiling water bath for added safety and preservation.
7. Allow the jars to cool to room temperature. Afterwards, you can refrigerate them for use within a few weeks or seal them tightly for longer storage at room temperature.
Apricots in syrup can be served as a dessert on their own or used in other preparations, such as cakes, pies or ice cream. They are a summer delicacy and can be enjoyed throughout the year.
