Isostemon

With the term iṡostèmon, word derived from the Greek ísos “equal” and from στήμων -ονος “stamen”, in botany, we mean the condition in which the androceum has the same number of elements as the involucral parts (corolla – chalice).
The term isostemon is synonymous with aplostemon.
In detail, therefore, the isostemon conformation occurs when in a flower the number of stamens is the same as that of the divisions of the corolla, with the stamens in a single cycle arranged alternately with the petals (alternipetals) and opposite to the sepals (oppositesepals).
This phenomenon is found in some botanical families, such as in the Pittosporaceae, in the Solanaceae, and in others.
