Herbaceous plant spread from sea level to mountainous areas, in the most varied soils and in ruderal soils.
Stem of 20-30 cm, ascending or erect with red margins at the base. The leaves are oblong oval-shaped, long petiolate of a glossy green color, the inflorescences are spikes with small and light green flowers. The fruits are cuspid achenes. The vegetative cycle is winter-spring with often perennial roots. Harvesting must be done in spring.
