Quinazoline

Quinazoline, whose brute or molecular formula is: C8H6N2 is an aromatic heterocyclic organic compound, structurally formed by a condensed benzene ring and a pyrimidine ring.
Quinazoline occurs naturally in Adatoda (Justicia adhatoda L., 1753), a plant species native to the Asian continent, which is responsible, together with other active ingredients, for the medicinal activity of the plant; among these we also mention Vasicina, from which Bromexina and quinazoline itself are obtained.
Quinazoline is isomeric to quinoxaline, cinnoline and phthalazine.
