Sarment

Sarment

By sarment we mean a long and thin branch typical of so-called sarmentose or climbing plants.
The term vine shoots more generally and properly indicates the branches of the vine detached from the plant after pruning.
The sarment is, in fact, a synonym of the branch more commonly called the branch.

In general, the sarment or shoot is a very long, thin, flexible branching that ensures an anchorage, especially in climbing and shrub plants.
The sarment or branch can point towards the ground, if it does not find supports or supports or if it climbs upwards in the presence of natural or artificial supports.
