Epicory

With the term epicory or epizoocory, in botany, we mean the dispersion of seeds through animals.
The word epicory comes from the Greek words epí, above and khōréō, I move.
Epicoria occurs when fruits or seeds adhere to the surface of animals, with attachment mechanisms such as hooked hairs (Xantium italicum, Cenchrus incertus), or viscous surfaces (burdock, oats, mistletoe), and can be transported over considerable distances .
With the mechanism of epicory, which allows the transport of various parts of plants (seeds, spores, cloves, thorny fruits, etc.), there is a dissemination of the same.
Epicory is one of the seed diffusion systems used by plants to transport their seeds and to colonize distant territories.
