According to the Antarctic Treaty, Antarctica does not belong to any country, it can be used solely for peaceful purposes, and economic and military exploitation activities are prohibited. Also under the treaty are all suspended all the extensions and territorial claims of the different countries.
These claims cover the entire territory with the exception of the unproved territories from 90 ° O to 150 ° O and relate to Argentina, Australia, Chile, France, New Zealand, Norway and the United Kingdom.
