1st Mediterranean Agroecology Congress
1st Mediterranean Agroecology Congress
The 1st Mediterranean Agroecology Congress (AEMED 2025) represents an important opportunity for discussion between farmers, researchers and actors in the agroecological sector from all over the Mediterranean basin. The congress will be a place for dialogue and exchange of practical and scientific experiences. Particular attention will be paid to the interaction between sciences, practices and movements, with three thematic days on the topic (9, 10 and 12 June) and a special day of company visits (11 June), during which farmers will illustrate their practices and the results achieved directly in the field. On the experience gained by the Sicilian Agroecology Coordination, promoter of the Regional Law 21 of 29 July 2021 on agroecology, the congress aims to elaborate, on the last day, three key documents.
Through a participatory process and round tables, directions and guidelines will be defined for the following areas:
• Scientific: to orient research towards the real needs of agroecology in the Mediterranean.
• Technical: to promote innovative solutions and practices applicable to Mediterranean agricultural realities.
• Political: to offer guidelines and proposals for public policies aimed at the development of agroecology.
This congress is a fundamental moment to build a common and sustainable vision for Mediterranean agriculture, enhancing the resources and cultural heritage of a territory rich in history and biodiversity. For more information and to participate, visit this website.
