How to make a potash fertilizer

To make a homemade potash fertilizer, you can follow these steps:
Necessary materials:
Wood ash (preferably from hardwood such as oak or beech)
A bucket or plastic container
A filter or piece of cloth
Waterfall
Here’s how to proceed:
Gather Wood Ash: You can get ash by burning wood in a stove or fireplace. Be sure to use wood that has not been chemically treated or painted.
Prepare the container: Get a bucket or plastic container large enough to hold the amount of ash you collected.
Filter out the ash: Place the filter or cloth over the edge of the container so that it covers the opening. Pour the ash into the container and let the water flow through the filter. This will help separate larger particles from the ash.
Add water: Pour water into the container until the ash is completely covered. You can use tap water, as long as it’s not too hard or too chlorinated. Mix the water and ash well with a stick or spoon.

Leave to infuse: Cover the container and allow the ash and water solution to infuse for at least 24 hours. During this time, the potassium and other nutrients in the ash will dissolve in the water.
Re-Filter: After 24 hours, remove the filter or cloth from the container and pour the fertilizer solution into another clean container. This process will serve to remove any sediment left in the solution.
Storage: Transfer potash fertilizer to sealed bottles or containers. You can store it in a cool dark place.
Using Potash Fertilizer:
You can use potash fertilizer obtained by diluting it in water. Usually, a dilution of 1 part fertilizer to 10 parts water is sufficient for watering plants. You can apply it to the soil around the roots of your plants every 2-4 weeks, depending on your plants needs.
It is important to note that the concentration of potassium in the solution obtained may vary according to the type of wood used and the composition of the original soil. Before using any homemade fertilizer, it’s a good idea to do a soil test to assess your plants’ specific needs.
