Curdion, whose term in the official IUPAC nomenclature is: (3S, 6E, 10S) -6,10-dimethyl-3-propan-2-ylcyclodec-6-ene-1,4-dione is a chemical compound of plant origin .
Curdione has a brute or molecular formula: C15H24O2.
This substance is contained in some species of Curcuma such as Zeodaria (Curcuma zedoaria (Christm.) Roscoe, 1807).
Curdion plays an important role in the inhibitory effect on CYP3A4 (abbreviation of taurochenodeoxycholate 6alpha-hydroxylase which is an enzyme belonging to the class of oxidoreductases) in Caco-2 cells, cells that differentiate into a monolayer of polarized cells, coupled by junctions , which express many morpho-functional characteristics of the absorbent epithelium of the small intestine.
