The yuremamine whose brute or molecular formula is: C27H28N2O6 is an alkaloid of natural origin.
Yuremamine is a phytoindole alkaloid that was isolated from the bark of the skin tree (Mimosa tenuiflora (Willd.) Poir.) In 2005 which was initially determined as a pyrrole [1,2-a] indole structure, which it was thought to represent a new class of indole alkaloids.
However, in 2015, the total synthesis of yuremamine revealed that its structure is that of a flavonoid derivative.
Yuremamine is a colorless compound. Salifying the amino group with trifluoroacetic acid, the color becomes purple red.
Yuremamine is believed to be probably one of the psychoactive substances in the yurema drink used by some natives in northeastern Brazil.
