Abiotic

By abiotic, in ecology, we mean a system or factor where a form of life is not present. The term abiotic is indicated, as opposed to biotic, to indicate those conditions which, despite having influences and repercussions on the environment, are determined by non-living factors and phenomena.
In fact in an ecological system, the various components are distinguished: abiotic material, consisting of inorganic and organic substances but not living and of factors and phenomena related to the characteristics of the place, such as morphology, slope, climatic factors, etc.

Because of their influence on the ecosystem, abiotic factors are of fundamental importance since the conditions and characteristics of life, biocenosis, populations and their composition are linked not only to biological factors but also to these abiotic factors.
Furthermore, abiotic means all those environmental conditions that do not allow any form of life.
