How to grow the tansy

Tanaceto (Tanacetum vulgare L., 1753) is a spontaneous plant that is also grown today in pots and in the garden for its many uses and for exploiting its properties in the field of natural remedies.
Even if it develops well enough even in partially shaded areas to blossom copiously requires direct irradiation. It tolerates the cold and cold climate badly, but the climate is too humid.
Tangerine grows well in calcareous or siliceous soil, poor in organic matter, mixed with sand and well drained. The ideal substrate for soil or potted cultivation must have a neutral pH.
For irrigation, it is generally satisfied with rainwater but in periods of prolonged drought it must be watered. Potted plants, especially those in growth phase, should be watered when the soil is completely dry.

As many spontaneous plants do not require particular fertilization, but before fertilization can be fertilized. It is clear that we must always prefer fertilizers from organic substances or products directly to the farm.
The Tanaceto is reproduced by seed, by division of the bushes and also by cuttings. The best time to get new Tanaceto plants is spring.
The Tanaceto seeds are intertwined at a depth of about half apart from each other of 50 – 60 cm for as long as germination takes place. The substrate must be kept constantly moist. When the new seedlings have reached 20 cm in height, they are unbuttoned to make them inflate and strengthen.
Multiplication by division of the bushes occurs when the plant has at least three years of life.
For the pruning of the Tanaceto, proceed as follows: at the end of flowering and to favor the second flowering, the stems topped up to the pair of newly formed basal leaves.
The best time to transplant plants bought in a pot is spring.
The heads of Tanaceto are collected in full bloom; They are dried in a shady place and stored in paper bags in a dry place.
Tanacetus fears rotting roots if the soil is not well drained. It suffers the bad white or oidium if the climate is too moist; Sometimes it is attacked by rust.
