Pedicel

In botany, the term pedicel refers to the support stem of a single flower that is part of an inflorescence or a single fruit in the infructescence; the stem that supports the entire flower is called the peduncle.
It is said instead pedicellato, always in botany, of a flower with a pedicel.
In zoology, on the other hand, the term pedicel refers to the connection between the two tagmata of a spider, the cephalothorax and the opistosome, which is strongly innervated and sprayed.
Finally in zoology the organs of locomotion or adhesion to substrate typical of Echinoderms are defined as ambulacral pedicels. These connected with the aquifer system and, in the typical form, equipped with a sucker: elongating, fixing to the bottom and contracting, determine the locomotion of the animal.
