Nebularine

Nebularine

Nebularine whose term in the official IUPAC nomenclature is: 9 β-D-Ribofuranosilpurine is also known under the names of 9-purine ribonucleoside, Ribosyl-isopurin, Purine ribonucleoside and Purine riboside.
Nebularine is an alkaloid with a brute or molecular formula: C10H12N4O4.
This substance is an alkaloid with antibiotic action and has been isolated from the fungus, known as the fog fungus (Clitocybe nebularis (Batsch) P. Kumm, 1871).
Nebularine is present in this fungus in traces and its properties are said to be very mild mutagenic (which would have been observed in laboratory mice following very high concentrations).
However, the in vitro tests do not represent proof that mutagenesis, following the assumption of this mushroom, occurs following the assumption of this mushroom, also because nebularine is water-soluble and therefore a prolonged pre-boiling should make this molecule disappear almost completely. .
